Hi. My name is Susan Jimenez Gibbs. I am the artist behind Dizon Designs & Pudditat Reborns. I have been making clothes for my dolls since I was a little girl. All of my creations are one-of-a-kind. I do not use patterns or sketches in my work. I design and refine each piece in my mind's eye as I cut and sew. Hence, the impossibility of replication even if I wanted it. I named my clothing line Dizon Designs in honour of my first teacher, my role-model and my inspiration. . . my mother, Rosario Dizon Jimenez. She showed me the art of sewing at a very young age.
Just a few years ago, I discovered the amazing world of reborn dolls. I started making doll clothing for collectors and artists around the world in 2009. I was amazed to see what a huge market it was! As a collector myself, I'm in awe of how these wonderful works of art bring so much joy to people of all ages. I have always been interested in the painting process, so I decided to try my hand at this fascinating art in 2011. In 2013, I tried sculpting mini dolls out of polymer clay. My second sculpture won 1st Prize at the Down East Doll Show 2013 in North Carolina! So now, I'm not only a doll-clothing seamstress, but a reborn artist and an aspiring sculptor as well.
This website is dedicated to my Mama. Thank you for the wonderful things you taught me.
Please see my creations and feel free to write in my Guestbook.
