Hi. I am the artist behind Dizon Designs & Doll Works. I am a fabric artist, a doll painter and an aspiring sculptor.
I have been making clothes for dolls since I was a little girl. All of my creations are one-of-a-kind. I do not use patterns or sketches in my work. I design and refine each piece in my mind's eye as I cut and sew. Hence, the impossibility of replication even if I wanted it. I named my clothing line Dizon Designs in honour of my first teacher, my role-model and my inspiration. My mother. She showed me the art of sewing at a very young age.
In 2009 I discovered the amazing world of reborn dolls that started my making doll clothing for collectors and doll artists around the world. I was amazed to see what a huge market it was! As a doll collector myself, I'm in awe of how these wonderful works of art bring so much joy to people of all ages. I have always been interested in the painting process, so I decided to try my hand at this fascinating art at the end of 2010. In 2014, I started painting silicone dolls and finally found my niche in the doll industry.
I'm also a prop-fabricator for a couple of film industries in Vancouver. I make dolls as props or doubles for real babies.
Thank you.
Susan
